My love for my Rihanna Fenty Slides is so real that I would love to wear them at every opportunity. One place I am dying to wear my slides is the campus of Lipscomb Academy. Due to a closed-toed only shoe policy my dreams will never be a reality.  Once again, the way of the world does not want to favor me and my burning desires to wear my slides to school will inevitably never happen. However, I am unable to solely blame my misfortune on the way of the world. This led me into a deep investigation to find the source of my dilemma. The question to be answered: Why are we not able to wear open toed shoes to school?

Trying to take an unbiased standpoint, I looked at every possible reason that would prohibit students from wearing open-toed shoes. The following possible outcome were deducted logically based on personal opinion: liability for life-threatening injuries caused to the foot, and the outward opinion wearing open-toed shoes may have on certain groups of people.

These are great reasons, but in order to find the actual reason I had to find an executive member at Lipscomb Academy Leadership Team to help guide me to the actual answer. Mr. Witt, Principal of Lipscomb Academy High School, gave the following response: “The open toed shoe policy makes students look more professional and more appropriate for school.”
Well, there you have it folks! The true reason why we are not allowed to wear open-toed shoes.
