This year, Lipscomb welcomes five new teachers at the academy. Mrs. Allison, Dr. Rummage, Mrs. Berry and Ms. Pickens all join the 9th-12th grade English classes and Mr. Thames joins the 10th grade Bible class. They graciously shared information about themselves so we could get to know them better.

Mrs. Allison:

Where are you from?: I was born in a little town called Pembroke located in southern New Hampshire.

Where did you go to college?: I graduated from Lipscomb University.

Favorite movie?: I have a lot of favorite movies. One of them is The Patriot.

Favorite musical artist?: I also have a lot of musical artists that I love. Some of them are Taylor Swift, Adele, and Jason Aldean.

Are you married/if so, how long?: I got married this summer on June 18th and my husband’s name is Jonathan.

Do you have any children? Do you have any pets/if so, what are they?: No children, but we have a three month old puppy named Gunner who is our child.
Dr. Rummage:
Where are you from?: I grew up in Columbia, TN.

Where did you go to college?: I attended Lipscomb University.

Favorite movie?: Young Frankenstein.
Favorite musical artist?: Casting Crowns.
Are you married/if so, how long?: Yes, I have been married for 36 years to my wife, Paula.
Do you have any children?: We have two adult children named Sarah and Ryan. They graduated from Ezell-Harding Christian School.
Do you have any pets/if so, what are they?: No.
Mrs. Berry:
Where are you from?: Nashville, TN.
Where did you go to college?: I went to Lipscomb University for undergraduate and am currently there for graduate studies.
Favorite movie?: Pink Panther is a classic choice, but I have been watching more TV series than movies lately. I love “Mr. Robot.”
Favorite musical artist?: My favorite musical artist is Queen. There is no other performer like Freddie Mercury.
Are you married/if so, how long?: I am married and have been for almost 2 years. My husband is an artist.
Do you have any children? Do you have any pets/if so, what are they?: I have no children, but I once had a guinea pig. He was kind of a jerk, but he did sing along with opera on the radio which was pretty funny. My goal in life is to have a dog, but for now I just creepily play with other people’s. If you have a dog and we are friends, you should ask yourself whether we are really friends or if I am just in it for the dog.
Ms. Pickens:
Where are you from?: I am from Nashville, TN and I’ve lived here for all of my life.
Where did you go to college?: I’ve been at Lipscomb since Pre-K and I went to Lipscomb University (graduated this past May).
Favorite movie?: Favorite movie is SO hard because I am a die hard movie fan, but The Parent Trap is ole faithful for me.
Favorite musical artist?: I have been VERY into Ariana Grande lately, and I’m distraught that my high pony doesn’t look like hers.
Are you married/if so, how long?: Single as a Pringle.
Do you have any children?: No.
Do you have any pets/if so, what are they?: No pets. Not a huge animal fan tbh, but I like a good snuggle with a hypo-allergenic dog every once in a while.
Mr. Thames:
Where are you from?: I am from Atlanta, GA and I went to Greater Atlanta Christian during high school.
Where did you go to college?: I went to Abilene Christian University.
Favorite movie?: Hard to say… but I really like Jurassic Park- the original!
Favorite musical artist?: This question is impossible to answer but lately I’ve been listening to Chance the Rapper, Blink 182 and the Hamilton The Musical soundtrack over and over again.
Are you married/if so, how long?: I’ve married to Kaitlyn Thames for 9 years.  She’s the theater teacher at Goodpasture.
Do you have any children?: We do! Jonas is 18 months old.
Do you have any pets/if so, what are they?: I have one dog named CJ who is wonderful and annoying.
