Have you ever been in class and looked over and saw someone’s face turn bright red and the thought popped in your head “Man what up wid dat?” Well, I’m here as a person who struggles with this on the daily to tell you that this is not an experience that we as people whose faces turn red easily enjoy. Let’s start from the beginning, shall we.

It all started in sixth grade when I was minding my own business talkin’ to people, livin’ my life, chillin’, ya know? This kid comes up to me and says, “Your face is red.” Now this was news to me…. My whole life I had always considered my face to be one of the lucky few to not turn red, but sadly I found myself on the total other end of the spectrum. I was that person whose face turned the color of a Heinz ketchup bottle at the first sign of trouble, and my life has been a struggle ever since.

From having to talk in front of large groups of people to just laughing a little too hard, the color that creeps into my cheeks is always bugging me. Actually, I find myself turning my own face red from worry that it is already red at that moment. You do not know the struggle that is my existence.

So while you’re sitting in class and you begin to see that one kid’s face turning red, odds are they are not excited about this fact, and they are probably fully aware that their face is similar to your red binder and do not need to be informed about said fact. Everybody has his or her struggles and sadly this is the burden that I and many others have been chosen to bear.
